National law firm Parker Waichman LLP has filed lawsuits on behalf of 13 patients allegedly injured by Zimmer NexGen Knee implants. The lawsuits were filed as part of the multidistrict litigation (MDL) in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Three of the plaintiffs represented by Parker Waichman include a Pennsylvania man who had to undergo revision surgery because of a defective Zimmer NexGen LPS-Flex component, as well as a North Carolina man and an Idaho man who had revision surgery because of defective Zimmer NexGen CR-Flex components.

According to a statement issued by Parker Waichman LLP, “the Plaintiffs are entitled to recover compensatory damages for pain and suffering and emotional distress and for economic loss as well as punitive damages,” as a result of the defective Zimmer NexGen Knee implants.

Judge Rebecca R. Pallmeyer is presiding over the litigation, which involves allegations against various Zimmer NexGen Knee replacement components, including the Zimmer NexGen LPS-Flex, Zimmer NexGen CR-Flex, Zimmer NexGen GSF LPS-Flex, Zimmer NexGen GSF CR-Flex, and Zimmer NexGen MIS Tibial components. The lawsuits all allege the devices are defective and have caused serious injuries, including the pain, disability and the need for revision surgery. disclaimer: This article: Zimmer NexGen Knee Implant Lawsuits Continue to Grow was posted on Thursday, March 22nd, 2012 at 8:26 pm at and is filed under Medical Device Lawsuits.
