UGI Utilities Inc., has settled a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the estate of William and Beatrice Hall, who were killed February 9, 2011 in a natural gas explosion that killed three other people, shook a neighborhood and leveled eight homes in Allentown Pennsylvania.

The couple’s son Mark Hall, who filed the lawsuit, said his parents “deserved justice, and I promised them that I would do everything in my power to ensure they got justice,” and the settlement fulfilled that promise.

The settlement came just four months after the accident was approved and sealed in  Lehigh County Court. Mark Hall thanked UGI for their kind treatment and respect, and for being so ready to accept responsibility for the blast, and for  being “ready and willing to fairly resolve my parents’ claims now instead of after years of litigation,” which Hall said “would only serve to prolong our pain.”

The terms of settlement were not released. disclaimer: This article: UGI Settles In Allentown, Pennsylvania Gas Blast was posted on Wednesday, June 15th, 2011 at 7:13 pm at and is filed under Accident Lawsuits.
