Triad Files Lawsuit Against Non-paying Vendor

Triad Group of Hartland, Wisconsin, which closed after tainted alcohol wipes were blamed for deaths and illnesses across the country which forced a massive recall, has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court, Wisconsin, against Vi-Jon Inc., saying they illegally cancelled  $500,000 in orders and refused to pay for $145,000 worth of delivered products.

According to the lawsuit, Vi-Jon cancelled the orders a little over one month after Triad and sister company H&P Industries recalled millions of alcohol pads because of contamination with Bacillus cereus, and a week after reports of a wrongful death lawsuit became public.

Triad alleges products ordered by Vi-Jon were not affected, and that the company was acting on “speculation of contamination.”

Vi-Jon is seeking to dismiss the lawsuit claiming the products they ordered were similar enough to the recalled products to cause concern, and they had a right to cancel orders because of that.

At least 9 lawsuits, two alleging death, have been filed against Triad after people contracted life-threatening illnesses after using the contaminated wipes, as well as other products, and federal marshals seized over $6 million worth of Triad product, and issued a permanent injunction against the company. disclaimer: This article: Triad Files Lawsuit Against Non-paying Vendor was posted on Monday, August 22nd, 2011 at 8:41 pm at and is filed under Medical Device Lawsuits.
