Nursing Home Sued By Widow

A nursing home abuse lawsuit filed in Madison Circuit Court, Kentucky, against Richmond Health and Rehabilitation – Madison Manor, administrator Tiffany Cox and five others by Donna Anderson alleges negligence, medical negligence, corporate negligence and violating long-term care residents’ rights.

The lawsuit says that while Donna’s late husband Robert was a resident at Madison Manor, the facility did not maintain adequate staffing and nursing, nor did they do what was necessary to prevent or eliminate staffing deficiencies.

The lawsuit also claims that the nursing home did not treat or monitor Robert’s pain, did not prevent malnutrition and did not provide adequate hygiene and sanitary care. The lawsuit also claims that the nursing home accelerate the deterioration of Roberts health and condition, and that Robert, who was mentally unsound at the time, suffered loss of personal dignity, embarrassment, physical impairment and “extreme pain and suffering, degradation, mental anguish, disability and disfigurement”, and incurred significant medical expenses.

The lawsuit says that the nursing home did not proper care for an infection on her husband’s foot, which lead to his leg being amputated and eventually his death.
