A Bridgeport, Connecticut Superior Court jury has award John Ezzo, 23, $10 million after he suffered a traumatic brain injury during a 2009 Segway Personal Transporter competition, called the Segway Challenge held at the Southern Connecticut State University.

An attorney for Ezzo said that although Segway recommends that users wear a helmet while on the Segway in all user manuals and safety literature, the company failed to provide riders in the challenge with helmets. “It’s a very simple case,” the lawyer said. disclaimer: This article: Man Awarded $10 Million for Segway Accident was posted on Thursday, December 22nd, 2011 at 8:21 pm at and is filed under Accident Lawsuits.
