Kandace Harris has filed a lawsuit against Windsor N.H.R. Partners dba the Jefferson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jefferson County District Court (Texas) claiming the nursing home failed to administer medication on two different occasions, each resulting in hospitalization for the patient.

The nursing home lawsuit says that Denzil Weaver was admitted to Jefferson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on May 26, 2009 for a total knee replacement, after which her doctor prescribed the anti-clotting medication Coumadin. The Center never administered the medication and Weaver had to be hospitalized on June 7, 2009.

The lawsuit also alleges that after Weaver returned to the Center, hospital staff again neglected to administer the Coumadin, and once again Weaver had to be hospitalized as a result.

The lawsuit alleges negligence for falling below the standard of care and failure to administer a drug. The suit is seeks damages for pain and mental anguish, as well as medical expenses.
