As Brooklyn Supreme Court Judge Vincent Del Guidice handed down the twenty-year sentence against convicted child sex abuser Michael Sabo, he urged the community to protect its children, saying, “There is a duty for all adults to protect our children. And the only way they can be protected is if they cooperate with law enforcement.”
According to the New York Daily News, Sabo, 38, plead guilty to abusing a 5-year-old boy for five years, and a six-year-old girl for nearly three years. The district attorney’s office in Brooklyn had evidence of seven other victims however, “because of the intimidation they thought would endure as part of the Orthodox Jewish Community,” they refused to cooperate.
News sources say it took nearly two years to track down Sabo’s young male victim after a rabbi was shown a picture of the boy tied-up. The boy’s father read a letter from the victim to the court at the sentencing that said, “You’re a miserable rotten piece of slime. I want to kill you over and over again.” Sabo is a father of four and was a nurse.
