Beth Tobias and Margaret Freiberg have filed a lawsuit in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Merck Sharp & Dohme Corporation alleging the manufacturer exaggerated the benefits of the osteoporosis drug Fosamax.

In the lawsuit, Tobias and Freiberg say they used Fosamax because it was supposed to reduce the possibility of bone fractures associated with osteoporosis, however, the claim says the drug does just the opposite and actually weakens bones and increases the risk of injury.

The lawsuit is seeking more than $50,000 in damages, plus court fees for false claims. disclaimer: This article: Fosamax Lawsuit Filed in Illinois was posted on Thursday, October 20th, 2011 at 7:14 pm at and is filed under Defective Drug Lawsuits.
