A trial date of December 3, 2012 has been set for one of the few DePuy ASR Hip Implant lawsuits not relegated to federal multidistrict litigation
A December 3, 2012 trial date has been set by a Eighth Judicial District Court of the State of Nevada judge for one of the very few DePuy ASR hip replacement lawsuits that was not consolidated in the federal multidistrict litigation. The case involves three patients who has to have DePuy ASR hip replacement devices removed and replaced.
A second state DePuy ASR Hip Implant trial, this time in Maryland, is scheduled to begin in January.
In August 2010, DePuy recalled 93,000 of the controversial metal-on-metal hip replacement devices, including the ASR XL Acetabular System and the ASR Hip Resurfacing System. Thousands of lawsuits have been filed over the allegedly defective devices, and all but ten have been consolidated to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio under Judge David A. Katz.
