Feds Reject J&J Risperdal Settlement

AddThis Social Bookmark Button

The Wall Street Journal reported that the Department of Justice has rejected a $1 billion proposed settlement with Johnson & Johnson over the alleged illegal marketing of the anti-psychotic drug Risperdal for uses not approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Federal prosecutors and J&J must now negotiate a deal.

Individual states are also filing similar allegations against Johnson & Johnson over Risperdal. In January, J&J reported that it would settle a Texas lawsuit for $158 million over improper marketing and sales of the drug to residents enrolled in the state’s Medicaid program
