The Department of Justice has announced that a $64 million settlement has been reached in a whistleblower lawsuit filed in Eastern District of Arkansas against Accenture LLP which alleged the technology service company rigged bids, inflated prices, and paid kickbacks.
The whistleblower lawsuit was brought by Norman Rille and Neal Roberts under the provisions of the federal False Claims Act, the Associated Press has reported. The US Attorney General’s Office said that the conduct of Accenture undermined the federal procurement process.
Accenture released a statement regarding the settlement saying that it is not an admission of guilt, and that Accenture “continues to vigorously deny..any wrongdoing.” The company also said the settlement will not restrict current or future dealings with the government.
