Cargill Salmonella Lawsuit Planned

David Taber of Gilbert, Arizona is planning to file a lawsuit this week against Cargill, after the company initiated a recall of 36 million pounds of turkey products after one person died and 77 others, including Tabor got sick with Salmonella.

The lawsuit will allege negligence and marketing defects against Cargill, though it is not known how much in damages he is seeking, Ozarks First.com has reported.

The lawsuit will be filed in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas, Fayetteville Division. The plaintiff is seeking a jury trial.

The Cargill ground turkey recall includes chubs of fresh and frozen ground turkey, as well as retail trays of ground turkey meat and ground turkey patties. Recalled products were sold under the names Honeysuckle White, Giant Eagle, Riverside, HEB, Kroger, Safeway, Fit & Active, Shady Brook Farms, and Spartan. The products subject to recall today bear the establishment number “P-963? inside the USDA mark of inspection.
