Attorneys say they are recommending that their client, one of the victims who testified in the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse trial, move forward with a civil lawsuit against Penn State University. Earlier this week, Penn State officials invited the victims to discuss potential settlement demands, hoping to settle many of the claims out of court.
Jerry Sandusky’s adopted son Matt has also come forward with allegations that he was subjected to sexual abuse by his father. Originally considered a defense witness, Matt informed the police that he was subjected to “the showering, with the hugging, with the rubbing,” that the other victims talked about during the trial. He said he “wanted to die” after the abuse occurred.
The Pennsylvania attorney general’s office has not said if additional charges will be filed against Jerry Sandusky concerning Matt’s allegations; however Judge John Cleland indicated the Pennsylvania grand jury was continuing its investigations, and issued a protective order, to “assure the integrity of the ongoing criminal investigation.”
