A federal judge has ruled that NCR Corp., and Appleton Papers Inc., may be responsible for natural resource damage caused by PCB contamination at a Wisconsin Superfund site. The damages are estimated at $250 million.

The actual amount of damages and entitlement to damages has not yet been established, NCR told Business Week.

Menasha Corp., a paper recycler has shifted an estimated $700 million of clean up costs to NCR and Appleton, who manufactured carbonless paper that contained polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB). The PCBs contaminated the Fox River in Wisconsin.
