The Los Angeles Superior Court has approved a $10.5 million class action settlement regarding the wage and hour lawsuit filed by Aon Corp., by employees alleging that Aon misclassified more than 534 employees, exempting them from overtime, meal and rest breaks requirements. Business Insurance reported that the employees involved in the lawsuit carried the title account specialist, senior account specialist, relationship specialist, account manager, client specialist, client services representative and/or customer service representative.

The lawsuit was filed by Aon employee Francisco Hoyng in 2007. A year later Robert Zajac was placed as lead plaintiff. Though Aon settled in the lawsuit that was classified as a class action last year, the company denies any liability or wrongdoing. The company has not commented on the settlement.

Business Insurance reports that wage and overtime lawsuits have become a significant problem, with more than 40,000 lawsuits filed last year alone. disclaimer: This article: Aon Settles Wage Lawsuit For $10.5 Million was posted on Tuesday, July 5th, 2011 at 8:07 pm at and is filed under Employment Lawsuits.
