Anderson Hospital and American Medical Systems Sued Over Mesh Implant

Susan Tellerico and her husband Richard filed a lawsuit in Madison County Circuit Court against Southwestern Illinois Health Facilities Inc., doing business as Anderson Hospital, and against Dr. Travis L. Bullock and American Medical Systems Inc., alleging that she was hurt by a procedure to correct incontinence.

According to the lawsuit, Susan sought treatment at Anderson Hospital for urinary incontinence in September 2009, during which, Dr. Bullock improperly implanted Monarc surgical mesh into her uterus. The transvaginal mesh has allegedly caused Tellerico numerous medical issues. <!–more–>

The lawsuit accuses Anderson Hospital, Dr. Bullock, and Monarc manufacturer, American Medical Systems, of negligence and claim they are responsible for damages for medical bills, loss of consortium, and court costs in an amount of more than $200,000. The lawsuit seeks a jury trial.
