Three people are clinging to life and more than 20 others were injured in Brooklyn after a car slammed into an oncoming B46 bus on Wednesday.

Three people were critically injured in the 3:55 p.m. crash, which occurred when a BMW an a Nissan Altima collided, knocking the BMW into the city bus at Utica Avenue and Clarendon Road in East Flatbush. The entire front end of the BMW crumpled when it collided with the bus’ driver side corner, according to the New York Daily News (Daily News).

Four men in the BMW were rushed to Kings County Hospital, where three of them are in critical condition. A woman in the Nissan Altima was also taken to Kings County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The bus driver was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. About 16 bus passengers were treated at the scene, the Daily News reported.

In October 2013, 41 people were injured in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn when an MTA bus crashed into a car. Dozens of passengers on the bus were injured, along with some of the people in the car. Twelve were seriously injured, and the remaining 29 suffered minor injuries, according to CBS New York.

The driver of the car was fleeing the authorities and ran a stop sign, causing the bus to strike the car, witnesses told CBS News. The car was destroyed in the crash. The driver, who allegedly had a gun and decided to run when police noticed the weapon, was most seriously injured. Responders had to use the jaws of life to pull victims from the wreckage. disclaimer: This article: More than 20 people Injured in Brooklyn Bus Crash was posted on Monday, January 12th, 2015 at 4:04 pm at and is filed under Accident Lawsuits.
